# Floating Label Field

> A text field whose label doubles as its placeholder, then glides up and shrinks on focus or once filled: into a notch cut in the border (outline) or the top of a tinted well that clears on focus (filled). Pure CSS on :placeholder-shown, so autofill and server values float too. Leading icons, trailing buttons, required marks, descriptions and errors.

## Install

One-time setup (needs a subscription):

1. Add the registry to the project's `components.json`: `{"@assembli":{"url":"https://www.assembli.design/r/{name}.json","headers":{"Authorization":"Bearer ${ASSEMBLI_API_KEY}"}}}` (merge into `"registries"`).
2. Put an API key from https://www.assembli.design/account in `.env.local` as `ASSEMBLI_API_KEY=asm_…`.

Then install with the shadcn CLI (writes `components/floating-label-field/floating-label-field.tsx` and installs dependencies):

## Code
