# Toasts

> Short-lived messages that pop over the page: toasters with stacking and swipe, promise and progress toasts, undo snackbars and rich toasts with actions.

- [Toaster](https://www.assembli.design/components/toaster.md): A complete toast system: call toast(), toast.success() or toast.promise() from anywhere and a Toaster renders them as a collapsed deck that fans out on hover. Six positions, swipe or Escape to dismiss, timers that hold on hover and in hidden tabs, morphing icons when a promise settles, and Alt+T to jump to the stack.
- [Toast](https://www.assembli.design/components/toast.md): The toast on its own, ready for any toaster: five intents (neutral, success, info, warning, error) in five finishes (card, tinted, accent rail, solid, inverse), with a title, description, filled and quiet actions that take the finish's colours, a close button and an optional draining timer that pauses on hover.
- [Promise Toast](https://www.assembli.design/components/promise-toast.md): One toast for one async job: a spinner and progress bar while it runs, then it settles in place. The spinner pops into a drawn check or cross with a ripple, the title cross-fades, the bar folds away and follow-up actions slide in. Errors shake once. Controlled, so it fits any promise, mutation or deploy.
- [Message Toast](https://www.assembli.design/components/message-toast.md): A chat notification you can answer in place: avatar with an app badge, sender, channel, time and a two-line preview, one-tap emoji reactions, and a Reply button that opens an inline composer. Enter sends, Escape backs out, and the toast confirms before it leaves.
- [Upload Toast](https://www.assembli.design/components/upload-toast.md): The upload tray that sits in a corner while files go up: batch total, time left and an overall bar in the header, and a collapsible list with a file-type icon and progress ring per file. Hover a ring to cancel, retry a failed file, and close the summary when everything has landed.
- [Pill Toast](https://www.assembli.design/components/pill-toast.md): A compact, inverted confirmation pill for quick feedback such as "Link copied" or "Moved to Archive". Only one shows at a time: a new message stretches or shrinks the pill to fit while its content cross-fades. Tinted icons for success and errors, an optional Undo, and hover holds the timer.
- [Printout Toasts](https://www.assembli.design/components/printout-toasts.md): Notifications as a thermal receipt printer: toasts print out of a slot with a stepped paper feed, stack down one perforated strip, and tear off with a flick or the scissors. Includes a queue hook.
- [Undo Toast](https://www.assembli.design/components/undo-toast.md): Toast with a draining timer bar and an Undo action. The countdown pauses while you hover or focus, springs in from the bottom and stacks cleanly when several fire at once.
