# Messaging

> Person-to-person chat and calls: inboxes with conversation threads, team channels, video calls and support chat widgets.

- [Video Call](https://www.assembli.design/components/video-call.md): A video meeting room. Tiles re-flow to fit as people join and leave, or switch to speaker view with a filmstrip. Who's talking gets a ring and level meter, with mute, raised-hand and weak-connection badges. The controls cover mic and camera (⌘D, ⌘E), live captions, reactions that float up, screen sharing and leave or end for all. People and chat open in a side panel, with a waiting room.
- [Support Chat Widget](https://www.assembli.design/components/support-chat-widget.md): An Intercom-style support messenger. A round launcher with an unread badge opens a panel with three tabs. Home greets the visitor beside the team's faces and reply time, resumes the recent chat and searches help. Messages is a live chat with a human agent: typing, quick-reply chips, attachments and a five-face rating once the chat ends. Help lists and searches articles.
- [Channel Chat](https://www.assembli.design/components/channel-chat.md): A Slack-style team channel. Messages read flat with avatar, name and time; follow-ups compact under them. Hover for quick reactions, an emoji picker, Reply in thread and a menu. Reactions name who reacted, @mentions highlight (yours stronger), a New line marks where you left off and day labels stick. Threads open in a side panel. The composer formats text and suggests @mentions.
- [Messenger](https://www.assembli.design/components/messenger.md): A two-pane direct messages app. The list has search, pinned and muted chats, unread counts, online dots, drafts and live typing previews. Threads group bubbles into tailed runs, split days, mark where unread starts, quote replies, take emoji reactions, show photos and files, and say Delivered or Read. Hover or tap a bubble to react or reply. Enter sends. Narrow containers show one pane at a time.
