# Chips

> Chips and tags you click, pick or remove: choice, filter, interest, suggestion, avatar and overflow chips, plus keyboard tag groups.

- [Overflow Chips](https://www.assembli.design/components/overflow-chips.md): Label chips that never wrap: as many as fit stay visible, measured live as the container resizes, and the rest fold into a +N chip that opens a popover on hover or tap listing them. The first frame is already trimmed. Built for table cells, cards and toolbars.
- [Suggestion Chips](https://www.assembli.design/components/suggestion-chips.md): Prompt and search suggestions as tappable chips. On one scrolling line the edge fades only on the side with more to see, round arrow buttons page through on pointer devices and the row snaps to chip edges on touch; or let the chips wrap, with a trailing arrow that nudges up on hover.
- [Avatar Chips](https://www.assembli.design/components/avatar-chips.md): People as chips: an avatar seated in the leading curve with a presence dot on its rim, a name and an optional role or handle, and a remove button that also answers Backspace. The list folds everyone past `max` into a chip that previews their faces with a +N, and opening it springs them in one after another.
- [Tag Group](https://www.assembli.design/components/tag-group.md): An accessible tag group in the WAI-ARIA grid pattern: one tab stop, arrow keys, Home and End to move, Space or Enter to select one or many, and Backspace or Delete to remove the focused tag and hand focus to its neighbour. Read-only, single and multiple selection, disabled tags, icons, a label, help text and an empty state.
- [Interest Chips](https://www.assembli.design/components/interest-chips.md): An onboarding picker for topics, cuisines or skills. Each picked chip fills with its own colour while its plus folds into a tick, a segmented meter counts towards `min`, and at `max` the rest dim and a tap shakes the counter. Toggle buttons with aria-pressed, controlled or uncontrolled.
- [Choice Chips](https://www.assembli.design/components/choice-chips.md): A single-choice chip group that works like a radio group: the highlight springs from the old choice to the new one, even across wrapped rows, and arrow keys, Home and End move and select. Solid or soft highlight, icons, counts, disabled choices, two sizes and a one-line scrolling mode.
- [Chip](https://www.assembli.design/components/chip.md): The base chip: soft, solid, outline, dot and faded variants in six tones and three sizes, pill or rounded, with a leading icon, an avatar seated in the curve, a trailing count or a close button. Closeable chips take focus and remove on Backspace or Delete.
- [Filter Chips](https://www.assembli.design/components/filter-chips.md): Selectable filter chips with a check that slides in, optional counts and avatars, single or multi select.
- [Removable Badges](https://www.assembli.design/components/removable-badges.md): Dismissible tag chips with a close button, Backspace to remove and an animated exit that closes the gap.
