# Runnel asset packs

> Eight design-shop desk toys in ring-grained wood, veined marble and brass, standing in low window light whose panes fall across them and the page: a marble-run tower, a seesaw, a Newton's cradle, a spiral ramp, a spinning top, an abacus that counts, a vortex funnel and a stair the ball hops down. Each one keeps moving; tap for its trick. Six wood-and-stone palettes.

- [Runnel Pack](https://www.assembli.design/components/runnel-pack.md): The whole Runnel asset pack in one install: eight design-shop desk toys in ring-grained wood, veined marble and brass, raymarched in WebGL and standing in low window light whose panes fall across them and the page. A marble-run tower, a seesaw, a Newton's cradle, a spiral ramp, a spinning top, a counting abacus, a vortex funnel and a stair, plus a display stage.
- [Steps](https://www.assembli.design/components/runnel-steps.md): Runnel pack: a stair of alternating wood and stone blocks falling away from a stone column, on a glazed tray, with a little wooden house at the foot. A wooden ball rises into the cup on the column, hops down the stair a step at a time, landing in a shallow dish on each, and rolls in through the house's round door. Raymarched in WebGL.
- [Funnel](https://www.assembli.design/components/runnel-funnel.md): Runnel pack: a polished stone vortex funnel with a brass rim on a turned wooden stem, beside a stone lift column on a wooden base. A ball comes up into the column's cup, hops onto the funnel and circles down it, faster and faster as the circles tighten, until it drops through the middle and comes round again. Raymarched in WebGL.
- [Abacus](https://www.assembli.design/components/runnel-abacus.md): Runnel pack: an abacus with wooden uprights and top rail on a stone plinth, and three brass rods of beads in wood, stone and wood. It counts on its own in fives, sliding a bead across at a time, carrying into the next rod and sending full rods back home one bead after another. A tap counts one on. Raymarched in WebGL.
- [Top](https://www.assembli.design/components/runnel-top.md): Runnel pack: a lathe-turned wooden spinning top with a brass tip and inlaid brass pin, humming round a shallow stone dish on a turned wooden plinth. Its rings run round its axis, it leans and slowly precesses, and its tip wanders the dish. A tap sets it wobbling wide, and it rides the wobble out. Raymarched in WebGL.
- [Spiral](https://www.assembli.design/components/runnel-spiral.md): Runnel pack: a stone column wound with a railed wooden spiral ramp, like a helter-skelter, on a lathe-turned wooden base. A wooden ball comes up through the column into the cup on top, hops onto the ramp, runs round and round it down to the foot and rolls into the column again. A tap makes it hop. Raymarched in WebGL.
- [Cradle](https://www.assembli.design/components/runnel-cradle.md): Runnel pack: a Newton's cradle, five polished stone balls hung in a row on fine brass wires from a brass frame on a ring-grained wooden base. The end ball swings out and strikes, and the one at the far end flies out in its place, on and on. A tap swings two at a time; another goes back to one. Raymarched in WebGL.
- [Seesaw](https://www.assembli.design/components/runnel-seesaw.md): Runnel pack: a grooved wooden plank balanced on a brass pin over a stone wedge, on a glazed tray. The plank tips, a polished stone ball rolls down its groove and knocks against the brass stop at the low end, then the plank tips back and sends it the other way. A tap nudges the plank and bounces the ball. Raymarched in WebGL.
- [Tower](https://www.assembli.design/components/runnel-tower.md): Runnel pack: a stone tower capped in ring-grained wood at the end of a long routed channel, on a glazed tray with a brass plate. A wooden ball rises out of the stone cup on top, rolls off the spout, drops into the channel, rides up the dish at the far end and rolls back into the tunnel at the tower's foot. Window light falls across it. Raymarched in WebGL.
